Apprentice success to spearhead donations as Kleek Apprenticeships support Little Lady Locks.
We are thrilled to announce our charity partnership with – Little Lady Locks - the children’s hair loss charity.
Little Lady Locks provides free-of-charge wigs and hair solutions to under-18s suffering from hair loss due to cancer or other hair conditions in the UK.
We are excited to begin an ongoing relationship with Little Lady Locks and will be donating in a variety of ways, whilst doing what we can to fundraise on their behalf also.
Apprentice-led Donations
We are immensely proud of all apprentices who train with us and qualify as hairdressers, barbers or beauty therapists.
Many of them successfully pass their Level 2 or Level 3 EPAs (End Point Assessments) with Distinctions, and we wanted to find a way to celebrate their achievement in a positive manner.
So every time a Kleek Apprentice achieves a Distinction in their final assessment, we will make a donation to Little Lady Locks on our apprentices' behalf.
We hope by the end of the year to have donated considerable funds to the charity as on average at least two apprentices gain a distinction every week! And we’re sure more apprentices will want to do the same and help secure greater funds for such a great cause too.
Drop-off Points / Hair Fairy Salons
As of June 2024, our Academies in Colchester, Darlington, Maidstone, Newcastle and Stockton will also become Drop-off points as Hair Fairy salons for donations to Little Lady Locks. All real hair donations (17 cm minimum) and recycled hair extensions can be donated.
To donate hair, full information is available at https://www.littleladylocks.com/pages/donate-hair
We will also offer free cut and blow dry services to all those wishing to donate their real hair (a minimum of 17 cm required) at one of our academies (subject to booking and availability in advance).
Other Fundraising
We also hope to fundraise via other events at our Head Office and Academies including Bake Sales, Wear Pink Day, Christmas raffle and client donation boxes.
Tina Ockerby, Managing Director commented, “We are delighted to have joined forces with Little Lady Locks, a young charity that is doing outstanding life-changing work for the children and young people it supports. Our apprentices will learn more about the charity and the importance of such work within the sector and have the chance to contribute through their individual success."
To find out more about the amazing work the charity is doing, visit the Little Lady Locks website and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
