Your Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist Apprenticeship

The Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist Apprenticeship is available for any learner above the age of 16, we would highly recommend that all learners complete the The Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship Level 2 before embarking on the advanced program.

The wellbeing apprenticeship will last between 15 - 18 months, on average. During your apprenticeship you will be earning a wage while learning your skills, an apprentice will be employed in a salon for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be entitled to all the benefits of your qualified colleagues.

This apprenticeship is a comprehensive training program that equips you with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience to provide holistic therapies and treatments. The program covers a broad range of techniques, including massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, and complementary therapies, with a focus on promoting overall wellbeing and improving health outcomes.

When enrolled in this program you will learn about anatomy and physiology, the principles of holistic therapy, and how to design and deliver personalised treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each client. You will also develop your communication, interpersonal, and business skills.

The Qualification

During the apprenticeship you will be assessed on your knowledge and understanding of the eleven mandatory units. These assessments will be completed by your Kleek Educator to the requirements of our awarding body.

Upon completion apprentices will have a deep understanding of holistic health and wellness, and be equipped to provide a range of treatments that promote physical, emotional, and spiritual balance. This program is an excellent choice for anyone interested in a career in the growing field of holistic healthcare.

The Units

There are eleven mandatory units and to be awarded the Wellbeing and Holistic Therapies Apprenticeship you must achieve in a selection of these.

The main aim of this unit is to give you an insight into the different systems of the body, how they work and how the systems will be affected by the treatment you will be carrying out for your client.

The aim of this unit is to give you the skills treat clients using aromatherapy oils.

You will gain the knowledge and understanding of how essential oils are extracted from plants and used in treatments that can facilitate wellbeing and be useful in improving or preventing ill health.

Also known as Chroma therapy is a subtle non‑invasive therapy making use of the healing energy contained within the visible rays of colour. In this unit you will gain the knowledge and skills to use colour to balance energy, aid creativity and learning, release energy blocks and alleviate physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. 

The main aim of this unit is to give you an understanding of how to balance the chakras using crystals or coloured silks. This will incorporate the colour therapy unit.

The main aim of this unit is to teach a variety of advanced massage techniques, including aromatherapy, zone therapy, lymph drainage, deep tissue, acupressure, holistic massage, Indian head massage, and Swedish massage.

The main aim of this unit is to demonstrate your ability to consult, plan, prepare and perform one manual massage treatment on a client.

In this unit you will be learning about how to safely and effectively use thermal therapies as a treatment or to enhance another treatment such as massage. You will learn about stone and lava shell therapies, and used either hot or cold can have a very big effect on both our physical and psychological well-being.

In this unit you will be learning the core principles of zone therapy. It is the belief that the hands and feet are made up of 5 major longitudinal zones on each side of the body. The zones represent major health conditions on each side. Massage is used to help trigger wellness, energise and rejuvenate the corresponding zones on either the hands or feet.

Zone therapy can also be known as reflexology or reflex zone therapy. It aims to treat mental and physical ailments through hand and foot massage.

The main aim of this unit is to demonstrate that you can perform a consultation with every practical observation using all techniques.

This unit will give you skills and knowledge to run  a  successful Salon promotional activities, in order to maximise profit. You will learn how to promote additional services and products and the importance of continued professional development, in order to stay ahead of the latest treatments and trends.

Health and Safety practices are of paramount importance in the beauty therapy industry to ensure the safety of all clients and staff. Every employer and employee of the salon must be aware of relevant legislations and local by-laws that apply when working in the salon. This unit will ensure you know and understand how to work safely with clients, follow the correct policies and procedures in line with all holistic treatments.

Completing The Apprenticeship

At the end of your wellbeing apprenticeship, after you have successfully completed the unit assessments, you will receive a Certificate of Unit Achievement. This allows you to progress onto the Gateway stage of the apprenticeship.

The Gateway is a period where we will review your knowledge, skills and behaviours to see if you have met the minimum requirements and are ready to take the End Point Assessment.

What is the End Point Assessment?

The End Point Assessment or EPA is an assessment of all the knowledge, skills and behaviours you have learned throughout your apprenticeship, it confirms you are ready to take the next steps in your hairdressing career.

These assessments have been designed and developed, by employers in the hairdressing industry, to reflect the daily work of a hairdresser. This makes them very sought after by employers across the industry.

After you have passed all the elements of the EPA, including any required standards in English and maths, you will receive your apprenticeship certificate.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

After you have completed your Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist apprenticeship you will be a more specialised therapist with a more rounded skillset and are able to create, implement and adapt tailored holistic and wellbeing experiences for your clients.
