Beauty Apprentice with a Flair for Nails: Rose’s Journey
From the moment she first saw her mum and friends at work in the salon, Rose knew the beauty industry was where she belonged. With her creativity, dedication, and love for making each client’s nails unique, Rose is well on her way to becoming a standout in the beauty industry - one stunning set of nails at a time!
We caught up with Rose to find out about her Beauty Apprenticeship journey so far...
KLEEK: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what initially sparked your interest in beauty?
Rose: "From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by the beauty industry, from watching my mum and her friends fall in love with their work and outcomes in what they’ve achieved to this day. I’m eager to learn, constantly refining my skills in all the latest trends. My passion and attention to detail are dedicated to helping others feel their best!"
KLEEK: What made you choose the apprenticeship route over other options?
Rose: "What drew me to an apprenticeship, rather than a traditional classroom route, is the opportunity to learn hands-on from experienced professionals while gaining a real-world insight into my day-to-day work in the beauty industry. I believe this path allows me to develop practical skills faster and build genuine client relationships from the get-go."
KLEEK: Can you describe a typical working week?
Rose: “In a typical working week, I mainly work on nails, including builder gel, regular gel, and polishing, also creating custom nail art for clients. I also carry out lash extension treatments, ensuring each set is tailored to the client’s style and comfort. I perform a lot of pedicures and polished toes; I enjoy balancing my creativity over all services.”
KLEEK: What are you most proud of to date?
Rose: “One of the things I’m most proud of to this day is how much I’ve grown in my skills and confidence. I never imagined I’d be creating such detailed, creative designs, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see my work being appreciated by people I would never have thought would see my Instagram. I’m also proud of the loyal client base I’ve built; knowing that so many people trust me with their treatments motivates me to keep learning, improving, and offering the best possible service.”
KLEEK: What is your favourite beauty treatment to carry out?
Rose: “My favourite service to provide is nails, as it allows me to be creative and bring each client’s vision to life. I enjoy experimenting with colours, textures, and designs, and I love how each set is unique.
KLEEK: What advice would you give to someone thinking of starting an apprenticeship with Kleek?
Rose: "If I could give advice to someone considering their next step, I’d say an apprenticeship is one of the best ways to start. It’s a chance to learn directly from experienced professionals, build real-world skills, and develop confidence by working with clients from day one. You’re living the role, gaining insight into the industry’s pace, standards, and creativity. The hands-on experience, combined with the support of mentors, is something you can’t fully get from books alone. It’s hard work, but the growth you see in yourself makes every step worthwhile."
KLEEK: What's next for you? Describe your career aspirations.
Rose: "Looking ahead, I’m focused on continuing to grow my skills and expanding the range of services I can offer. I’d like to master more advanced techniques in both nail art and lashes, as well as explore new treatments that keep my work fresh and exciting. My long-term goal is to build a strong, loyal client base."
