Kleek Apprentices Snip for Smiles at This Is Me Festival!
Kleek Apprentices and their employer King and Captain Barbers brought style, smiles and support to the This Is Me Festival at Ripon Rugby Club on 29th June.
The festival, aimed at being fully accessible and disability friendly, drew families looking for a welcoming and fun space for their kids.
With a passion for making haircuts accessible and enjoyable for all, the talented team from King and Captain Barbers set up a pop-up at the festival, offering FREE haircuts for children and young people with ADHD and autism. Generously giving up their Sunday, Kleek Barbering Apprentices Ruby and Ryan, along with former apprentices Seb and Amy, put their barbering skills to use, putting smiles on many children's faces with a fresh new haircut!
King and Captain Barbers are not just your average barbershop; they specialise in haircuts for neurodiverse children and young people, creating a stress-free, calm and welcoming space, so they were the perfect fit for this festival!
Owner Jack shared:
“We had an amazing, successful time helping children and young adults who struggle in a typical barbershop environment get haircuts in a way that suits them! What an amazing event and well done to all involved with creating a festival so inclusive and tailored to the people who really deserve to have something like this!”
We couldn’t be prouder of both past and present Kleek Apprentices, and their employer King & Captain, for their involvement in such a fantastic event. Well done!
