Holly Murray’s beauty career is already off to an impressive start. While completing her Level 2 Beauty Therapy apprenticeship with Kleek Apprenticeships at Brow HQ in Chester, Holly quickly established herself as a talented Brow Artist and Lash Specialist.
Since then, the business has expanded and rebranded as Brow Spa England, relocating to its new home within Harrods Beauty Chester. Holly’s hard work and talent have already earned her a full-time role there – a major milestone that highlights just how far she has come. We spoke to Holly and Brow Spa England Owner Leisa Roberts about her journey so far...

Apprentice Spotlight – Holly Murray
What's your favourite beauty service to carry out?
"My favourite treatment would be a lamination. I love the before and after of the brow as it creates such a beautiful finish. The client always walks away feeling confident and obsessed with their brows."
How has your Kleek Educator supported you throughout your apprenticeship?
"My Kleek Educator has supported me throughout my apprenticeship by being consistently approachable, encouraging, and knowledgeable. They’ve helped me build confidence in both my practical skills and theory by giving clear demonstrations, constructive feedback, and taking the time to explain things when I wasn’t sure.
They regularly checked in on my progress, helped me prepare for assessments, and supported me with my portfolio and exams, which made everything feel much more manageable. Whenever I faced challenges, whether with techniques, time management, or confidence, they offered reassurance and practical advice. Overall, their guidance has played a big role in helping me develop professionally and feel ready to progress in the industry."

What advice would you give to other young people who are thinking about going to full-time college instead of doing an apprenticeship?
"I’d say really think about how you learn best and what you want long-term. If you prefer hands-on learning, earning while you learn, and gaining real industry experience straight away, an apprenticeship can be a great alternative to full-time college. You build confidence working with real clients, develop professional skills, and often feel more job-ready at the end.
That said, full-time college can suit people who enjoy a more classroom-based environment and want time to explore different options before committing. My advice would be to research both routes, talk to people who’ve done them, and not feel pressured to follow just one path, apprenticeships are just as valuable and respected as college qualifications."
How do you feel your apprenticeship prepared you for your new full-time position within Harrods Beauty?
I feel my apprenticeship prepared me really well for my full-time position within Harrods Beauty. It gave me strong practical skills, confidence working with clients, and a solid understanding of professional standards and expectations in a high-end retail environment.
Through the apprenticeship, I learned how to manage my time, communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and maintain high levels of hygiene, presentation, and customer service. Working hands-on from the start meant I was comfortable dealing with real situations, meeting targets, and adapting quickly. Overall, the experience made the transition into a full-time role feel natural and helped me feel confident and prepared to work in a luxury setting like Harrods.
