Hannah Joins Kleek’s 100 Club After Hairdressing EPA Success
Achieving full marks in an End-Point Assessment (EPA) is a huge milestone for any hairdressing apprentice. Hannah Mottershead, a Hairdressing Apprentice at Contemporary Salons Stokesley, has done exactly that, earning a place in Kleek Apprenticeships’ prestigious 100 Club.
The 100 Club celebrates apprentices who achieve full marks in their EPA, highlighting outstanding talent across the hair and beauty industry. As Hannah progresses onto her Level 3 hairdressing qualification, we caught up with her to find out more about her apprenticeship journey, what she loves most about working in the industry, and the advice she’d give to future apprentices...
Why did you choose the apprenticeship route to get into hairdressing?
"I chose the apprenticeship route because I wanted to learn on the job. I liked the idea of gaining real salon experience as I’m a hands-on learner, while also earning money and building my confidence."
What do you love most about your job?
"What I love most is making clients feel good about themselves. My favourite service to carry out is cutting and styling because I love seeing the transformation and how happy it makes people."
What advice would you give to your younger self starting out in the industry?
"Don’t rush and don’t doubt yourself. Keep practising, ask questions, and take every opportunity to learn."
How does your Kleek Educator support you?
"My Kleek Educator supports me by giving me guidance, feedback and encouragement. Sheila helps me feel more confident in my work."
How does it feel to have received full marks on your EPA?
"It feels amazing and I’m really proud of myself. It shows that all the hard work has paid off and makes me excited to complete my Level 3 Hairdressing Apprenticeship next."
